You no longer need to carry your driving license or vehicle RC, just access them anytime through DigiLocker.

What do you carry always on your person?

Your driving license and your registration copy. All those who drive always carry it around in case some cop asks for it at any given time. Well, you won’t have to in the near future.

The Government of India will launch Digilocker+, a new system. It allows drivers to avoid carrying all the required documents every time.

What is Digilocker+ you ask? This system will let you save the soft copies of all your vehicle-related documents. Just create an account, upload your information, and you’re good to go!

The DigiLocker+ app secures all documents, and users can access the information via their smartphone from anywhere.

The service launched by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Ravi Shankar Prasad in New Delhi. You can now use DigiLocker app at all the places, including ticketing counters, and even if caught by the traffic police.

DigiLocker+ will initially introduced in Delhi and Telangana first, where traffic police officials already issue e-challans.

If there’s a traffic violation, the traffic police can instantly access all the details about the vehicle and the driver.

DigiLocker makes it lot easier for drivers by storing essential documents like your driving license and RC digitally. With instant access from your smartphone, you can drive worry-free without carrying physical papers.
