2. Kuldhara Village: Cursed Land

Once he visited the village, he fell in love with the beautiful daughter of the village chief. He asked the chief to marry his daughter, but he denied it, and then he threatened to impose exaggerated taxes on the villagers if he couldn’t marry the girl.
A total of 84 chiefs of other villages in that town decided to leave that place to save their daughter from that minister. In a single night, people from 85 villages left without a trace. No one knows where they went or how they disappeared. From that day, the place became known as spooky. It’s better to visit the place before sunset, as authorities prohibit entry after dark.
3. Nahargarh Fort: King’s Ghost
Nahargarh Fort was once the best vision of Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh, which is located near Jaipur on the Aravalli Hills. Still, some natives insist that the scoop of Nahar Singh Bhomia, a prince of Rathore, wasn’t pleased with its construction.
It’s said he actively hindered the building process until a temple was finally erected in his honor. Even now, the fort’s guards share hushed tales of flickering lights, unexplainable sounds, and the lingering presence of the king’s spirit. Some even believe he continues to protect the fort, meting out spectral justice to anyone who dares to disturb its ancient stones.
4. Rana Kumbha Palace: Secret Chambers
Within the grand Chittorgarh Fort lies Rana Kumbha Palace, a place steeped in both tragic history and haunting legends. This is the very site where Rani Padmini and hundreds of other royal women performed Jauhar, a mass self-immolation, to preserve their honor from invading forces.
To this day, tourists and locals report hearing the anguished cries of women and seeing shadowy figures near the Jauhar Kund (the sacrificial pit). The profound tales of sacrifice, immense pain, and heartbreaking loss seems eternally etched into the palace’s ancient walls.
5. Brij Raj Bhavan: Spirit Of An English Soldier
This elegant 19th-century palace in Kota now serves as a heritage hotel, but it comes with a permanent, spectral guest: the ghost of British Major Charles Burton. He met his tragic end within these very walls during the 1857 revolt. What’s fascinating is that many hotel staff describe his spirit not as malevolent, but as a rather strict, protective presence.
Guards have often reported hearing sharp, English commands, particularly if they caught dozing off during their night shifts!
