Is Apple Really Entering Into the Foldable Smart Phone Market

Apple plans to launch the first foldable iPhone by 2026, entering into the foldable smart phone market. Samsung dominated this category of phone for 7 seven years. After so many years of rumors, this might be it, though the tech giant officially didn’t confirmed anything. Aspect the price tag around $2000 (Rs 1.75 lakh roughly).

It may be Apple’s major Iphone redesign since iPhone X. The development is on full swing, according to Bloomberg, Apple, targeting to launch the device in the second half of the year. Apple is gearing up to launch its foldable iPhone with a book-style design, much like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Will Apple Make a Foldable Phone?

This could be a big moment. Whenever Apple enters a new market, it usually changes how things work. Apple might be getting ready to redefine the foldable phone industry once again.

Apple always been cautious entering into new categories. A lots of issues have already been addressed by Samsung, such as hinge durability and screen creases. Problems like this will be improved by Apple with a new hinge mechanism and better display materials.

Apple Foldable iPhone: Rumored Specs

According to leaks, Apple foldable phone could have a 7.8 inch inner display and a 5.5 inch cover screen.

With dual lens camera setup at rear and single selfie camera on front. There’s also a chance Apple might also remove the crease issue with foldable phones which is kinda annoying for users.

The phone is expected to measure 4.5mm in thickness and 9mm when closed.

This time Apple might ditch face-ID adapting side-mounted touch ID sensors.

Apple is shaping iOS 27 specifically for first-ever foldable experience. This update brings smarter multitasking, true split-screen support, and may even add support for the Apple Pencil. Instead of just scaling up, iOS 27 aims to make the most of the foldable screen.

Expected Releases of iPhones in 2027

In spring, expect iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e. In fall, expect iPhone 19 Air, iPhone 19 Pro, iPhone 19 Pro Max, iPhone 19 Fold to be released. Remember this is just speculation.

To be clear again, nothing from Apple confirmed whether Apple could launch its first foldable iPhone next year. With that being said, if everything goes correct as per rumors and leaks, this could be one of Apple’s most exciting product launches in a decade.
